This is a somewhat long note to say that there are indeed much brewing this first part of the year 2015; great projects on the horizon on the creative side of things. For further details, please click on Event
First; an exhibition by my good friend Mrs Redhead Photography in Gallery Cafe, Gort the 13th of February 2015. I might be hanging on the wall looking slightly wild and viking-like… or maybe not. But I will definitely be there!
Second; Doolin Writers Weekend the 27th – 29th of March 2015. I’m excited to be part of the little ‘Doolin Writers Weekend Committee’ with Lisa Fearon and Paul Griffin, helping organising this weekend founded by manager at Hotel Doolin; Donal Minihane who is quite a writer himself with his first novel ‘Cliona’s Wave’ being a winner of the 2013 Irish Writers’ Centre Novel Fair and will be published Spring 2015 by Indigo Dreams Publishing UK.
This is the third year of Doolin Writers Weekend and with the line up of writers, poets, musicians and other creative people, I think we are all in for a rare treat. To name a few; Donal Ryan, Christine Dwyer Hickey, Eilis Ni Dhuibhne, Dave Lordan, Madeleine D’Arcy, Graham Allen, Eleanor Hooker, Anthony Glavin & that’s just the writers, we’re lining up musicians galore, theatre, food, arts and crafts market and photo-exhibition.
A great troubadour from Cork will be opening the weekend Friday the 27th with an intimate concert followed the day after by a song-writer workshop. John Spillane it is, who I had the great pleasure of bringing on a concert tour of the Clare Cafe’s (and Gort) in September 2014. An idea founded by Luka Bloom who passed on the baton. It shall be good and a lot of fair play to see John back in Clare! He even wrote a Clare cafe song, please click the link for lyrics. Tunes should be ready for March 🙂
Last but not least, I am naturally also thrilled that I have been given a chance to let loose my own creative expression with a photo exhibition during the writers weekend. There’ll be selected photos from my many wanderings around the world, all in B&W; “Storm & Still – through the eyes of a Viking”

Hanne T. Fisker – Simplicity of Being
Wonderful photo Hanne. It has a lovely abstract quality. Good luck with the exhibition and a very Happy New Year 🙂
Andrew, thank you so much! While I’ve been going through literally thousands of photos to pick just a few I have more and more arrived at a point where simplicity is still key however my choice of photos are those that has a rather abstract quality to them. I’m thoroughly happy you noticed just that and liked it too. Thank you and a very Happy New Year to you too!
Hanne, it is wonderful that you are so busy with all these creative endeavors and congratulations on the photo exhibition. I just love your viking picture, it’s…well, it’s just you! One day I simply must get to visit Doolin, I just hope you are there when I do.
