Once in 2012 I organised a tour for Østerbro Pigekor; a young women’s choir from Copenhagen with Marlene Lollike as their musical director. It was in truth an extraordinary adventure beyond our imagination. They were singing “Fertile Rock” with Luka Bloom who made the song, in the rain at the foot of Mullaghmore, they sang in Father Ted’s House, in O’Connors Pub in Doolin, they sang and recorded with Luka Bloom in Corcomroe Abbey and joined his gig in Kenny’s and they had a workshop together with Archie Simpson and Lismorahaun Singers, exchanging their sound and musical work. It all flowed into an unforgettable concert with Lismorahaun Singers and Luka Bloom in Kilfenora.

Many coffee’s has been made since and now, they are coming back!!

This time they will perform a concert the 18th of October with Luka Bloom in Holy Trinity Church in Westport at 8.30pm. Here’s a link to an article in Mayo News – “Luka Bloom to perform with Danish choir in Westport”
And then to Co. Clare to give a concert with Lismorahaun Singers in St. Patricks Church, New Quay the 20th of October at 8pm. Tickets for the 20th can be purchased in advance in The Russell Gallery, New Quay and at Sea Salt Artisan Bakery, Liscannor.

Here’s a little clip from Mullaghmore singing “Fertile Rock” by Luka Bloom, the very song that inspired their trip to Co. Clare in 2012.

And another when they recorded “Gaman” with Luka Bloom in Corcomroe Abbey

I simply can’t wait till they are back!!
